GBCORP · R&D · ROBOTICS
Applied research, shipped as product.
GBCORP.tech is the R&D arm of the GBCORP network — humanoid robotics, computer vision, and industrial AI built to ship through the platform, not sit in a paper drawer.

BY THE NUMBERS
A research lab inside a working operating group. Twenty-eight years of build context.
FIVE TRACKS
What the lab is working on.
Five tracks. One platform.
Each track ends in a shipped product, a published paper, or a partner-funded pilot — preferably all three.
R&D
Applied research.
AI, computer vision, and robotics research productised through the GBCORP platform. Industry-funded, milestone-driven, publication-encouraged.
ROBOTICS
Humanoid platform.
The GBCORP AI Humanoid Robot — a programmable humanoid being taken through the government regulatory pathway as the lead robotics product.
AUTOMATION
Industrial AI.
Computer-vision quality systems and RPA orchestration for manufacturing, logistics, and back-office operations across the seventeen-country footprint.
PROTOTYPING
Rapid build lab.
An in-house workshop for hardware-in-the-loop pilots, proof-of-concepts, and short-cycle iteration with industry partners.
PARTNERS
Research alliances.
Joint research with partner universities, industry consortia, and the GBCORP.university degree-and-research programmes.
FIVE TRACKS · IN DETAIL
From whiteboard to production code.
Every track pins as you scroll. Each chapter is something the lab ships, not something it talks about.
01 · R&D
Applied research, shipped as product.
Research that ends in a deployed product, not a paper in a drawer. Every project carries a productisation milestone.
- 01
Computer-vision pipeline · v3.
Real-time object detection + segmentation tuned for industrial environments. Edge-deployable on Jetson-class hardware.
- 02
Behaviour-cloning sim.
A reinforcement-learning sandbox for the humanoid platform. Imitation learning bootstrapped from human demonstration footage.
- 03
Speech + voice agent stack.
Multi-language STT/TTS optimised for noisy industrial settings — built on top of the GBCORP.ai voice models.
- 04
Industry-funded grant programme.
Co-funded research with industry partners. Defined deliverables, shared IP terms, regular milestone reviews.
02 · ROBOTICS
The GBCORP AI Humanoid Robot.
The lead robotics product — a programmable humanoid being taken through the government regulatory pathway. Productisation-first, research-second.
- 01
Bipedal mechanical platform.
Twenty-eight degrees of freedom. Custom actuators in the shoulders, hips, and ankles. Built for indoor operating environments first.
- 02
Onboard compute + safety stack.
Edge-AI inference with redundant safety controllers. Functional-safety design aligned to ISO 13482 (service robots).
- 03
Regulatory pathway.
Active engagement with home-jurisdiction regulators to define the certification pathway for personal / service humanoids.
- 04
Developer SDK.
A Python + Rust SDK so partner labs and integrators can program new behaviours on the platform.
03 · AUTOMATION
Industrial AI for the back office and the factory floor.
Computer vision + workflow automation for the real operating problems of the GBCORP group entities — then productised for outside customers.
- 01
Vision-based QC.
Defect-detection at the production line. Drop-in cameras, edge inference, dashboards in the GBCORP.cloud control plane.
- 02
Document-AI pipeline.
Invoice, contract, and statement extraction. Shipped first for internal Finance, productised next via GBCORP.solutions.
- 03
Workflow orchestration.
n8n-based flow builder powering hyperautomation across the group. Self-service triggers, audited execution logs.
- 04
Operations control plane.
A unified dashboard for the running fleet of automation agents. Health, queue depth, exception routing.
04 · PROTOTYPING
Rapid build lab.
An in-house workshop for hardware-in-the-loop pilots. Short cycles, real fixtures, working hardware in days not quarters.
- 01
3D-print + CNC bench.
In-house additive + subtractive prototyping for sensor mounts, fixtures, and small-volume parts. Sub-day turnarounds.
- 02
Electronics bench.
Custom PCB design, ESP / RP2040 / NVIDIA-class compute, sensor integration. From schematic to working board in a week.
- 03
Customer pilot rig.
A reservable rig where partner companies run instrumented pilots of their own products against our automation stack.
- 04
Workshop drop-ins.
Quarterly open-days for partner engineering teams — hands-on sessions with the lab, the robot, and the automation stack.
05 · PARTNERS
Research alliances.
Joint research with universities, industry consortia, and the broader GBCORP network. Defined IP terms, defined milestones, defined publication rights.
- 01
University partnerships.
Joint research projects with partner universities — co-supervised graduate students, shared lab access, defined IP terms.
- 02
GBCORP.university link.
Research projects feeding the GBCORP.university Bachelor / Master programmes. Real working code, real published papers.
- 03
Industry consortia.
Membership in the relevant industry standards bodies for robotics, AI safety, and industrial automation.
- 04
Open-source contributions.
Upstream contributions to the open-source projects our stack depends on. Publication-friendly research where possible.
06 · WORK WITH THE LAB
Partner-funded research. Defined IP terms.
We co-fund research projects with industry partners. Defined deliverables, defined IP terms, defined milestone reviews.
THE PROMISE
Research that ships. Not research that sits.
